Shelly Devlin's Private Brass Studio

Shelly Devlin offers private brass lessons to students of all levels and all ages (8 and up). She believes that taking music lessons should be fun and exciting! Her studio provides professional instruction presented in a dynamic and positive way.

Shelly has taught private lessons in the Puget Sound area since 2000 and maintains an active schedule in the community as an educator and mentor. Her teaching studio has guided students to many successful performances at statewide solo and ensemble festivals. Shelly has also provided motivational trumpet and brass clinics to Northwest Washington area schools and has worked with student brass sections in preparation for large group contests.

In January 2008, Shelly was honored to be invited to teach High Brass Trumpet Techniques at the University of Washington where she gave future music educators a solid foundation on the development of a successful brass embouchure. Shelly also taught the 2007 Beginning Brass Exploration Camp in Tacoma, Washington where she introduced young potential musicians to instruments in the brass family through a hands-on learning environment. Shelly has been invited to return as an instructor for the camp in 2008.

Shelly provided educational brass clinic for Kingston Middle School beginning band students in September 2008 and is active in the community as an educator and mentor, teaching 25 students per week.
